check out this newest internet sensation. 6th grader who covers Paparazzi by The Lady of Gaga. It’s not super great, but for a 12 year old, its pretty rad. And he kills it in the last 30 seconds of the song or so. But seriously, check out the girls in the back, especially the blond girl, she is TOTALLY in love with him. Kid probably got all sorts of 6th grade makeout action that weekend.
there are so many crappy people on youtube trying to sing songs. there are so many decent people on youtube trying to sing songs. there are even a lot of pretty damned good people on youtube singing songs and some of them have even gotten record deals out of it. once in a while, there is some pure f*ing talent on youtube, and this kid from Yale is one of them. His voice is stupid good. So smooth. So so smooth.
He could easily win American Idol, but why win Idol when you can just get a deal without all the show and tell? Sign him. Now.

So apparently just a few short years ago Lady Gaga was simply known by her real name, Stefani Germanotta, and she was living in the dorms at NYU. She competed in the NYU talent show and came in third place. Clearly, trying to cope with not being number 1, she became a chronic glue sniffer and spent some time living on the streets, following the ways of the transvestite hookers on the lower east side. Now, she is Lady Gaga.

definitely wouldn’t say i’m a huge Gaga fan, but there is something fun about her music and I certainly appreciate that it doesn’t sound like every other pop song out there right now. she also clearly brings an amazing artistry to everything she does.

It used to be michael jackson. and he still is the KING of the music video. his videos combined storytelling and cutting edge choreography in a way that ONLY michael could do. today, we’ve got Lady Gaga and while she isn’t nearly as incredible as the KING, she makes a valiant effort to be crowned the new queen. sorry madonna.

Figured I may as well keep the lame reality show posts going by including this video of Chris Daughtry singing “Poker Face” by Lady GaGa.
For those who don’t know, Daughtry came in third place on American Idol a few years ago. I think it was the year when grey-haired Taylor Hicks won the contest with Katherine McPhee being the runner up. It was definitely the season that proved you don’t need to win American Idol to be the most successful of the crew. Both Hicks and McPhee were quickly dropped from their labels after putting out horrible albums that nobody wanted to hear. McPhee even sang some awful song about the greatness of open toed shoes. Seriously people? She was so hot and had a great voice and thats the song you give her? No wonder labels are dying. The only artists from these shows that survive are the ones who actually have some songwriting talent on their own and don’t just take whatever songs are given to them and make a crappy pop track.
Daughtry is not my kind of rock. It is very mainstream, Nickelback-esque music. I don’t own any of his albums, but I do love his voice. This recording from some radio station in Europe shows how raw and talented he is. He takes a run of the mill pop song and actually makes it listenable. Good job Mr. Daughtry, perhaps you have a future in this business.
